Standard grade offers 98.0% minimum GC purity. Premium grade offers 99.0% minimum with lower isomer content and better colour. Premium is recommended for toluidine reduction routes needing tight impurity control.
The three isomers differ in the position of the nitro group relative to the methyl group. Meta (99-08-1) gives m-toluidine on reduction, while ortho (88-72-2) and para (99-99-0) give different toluidines used in different dye, pigment and rubber-chemical routes.
